Question:
Why do I always lose my connection after
checking my mail in Outlook Express or Outlook 98/2000?
Answer:
If you are getting disconnected when you check
your email in Outlook Express or Outlook 98/2000, there is an option for
this in Outlook that you probably have selected. Follow the steps below
to remove this option:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on "Tools" at the top
- Select "Options" from the menu
- Select the "Connection" tab
- Under Dial-Up, look at the box that says "Hang up after sending and receiving"
- If this box is already checked, un-check it
This should solve your problem. This option may have been changed by some
internet software that you have recently installed. One program that is
known to change settings in Outlook Express is Norton Anti-Virus.
