ACE offers all members opportunities to become involved in important Club
activities. Pick the committee that interests you most and join up!
ADDYS
It's the biggest event of the year! The annual ADDY awards celebrate
creative excellence produced by local agencies, media, design studios and
other companies involved in the advertising business. This is the committee
that organizes the event. It's an opportunity to show off your creativity
in preparing the Addy materials while you get a first hand look at the
superior creative efforts being produced in our area.
CLUB ACHIEVEMENT
Each year at the AAF National Convention, individual Clubs are rewarded for
their efforts in such areas as Programs, Communications, Cultural Diversity,
Government Relations, Advertising Education and so on. Clubs submit a book
outlining their goals and results in those areas. The submissions are judged
and the top three in each Division are granted awards. In the past two
years, ACE has been awarded a third place in our division for Advertising
Education and a FIRST PLACE for Programs. You can be a part of preparing
those submissions as part of this committee. It's a great way for ACE to
achieve recognition nationwide.
COMMUNICATIONS
Get the word out-to the members, to the community and the world. This is the
committee that is responsible for the ACE monthly newsletter, news releases
and other communications about Club activities, including the ACE Web site.
This committee is our link to everyone the Club touches.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The Cultural Diversity Committee promotes opportunities in the advertising
business to the minority population of the Evansville area. Through public
relations efforts that utilize minority media outlets, job fairs, membership
recruitment, and educational activities, the Committee aggressively seeks
out students and adults who have an interest in an advertising career. The
ACE Diversity Committee is an extension of the efforts of the American
Advertising Federation which is committed to opening opportunities for
talented minority individuals to network with major advertising companies
for employment and education opportunities.
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
If an issue arises before the Evnasville City Council, the Indiana State
Legislature, or the Congress of the United States, the Government Relations
Committee will serve as a conduit for information. That conduit works two
ways-to bring issues to the membership's attention and to convey the
attitudes of ACE to the appropriate government body. At least once a year,
at a regular ACE meeting or a special meeting, ACE meets with our 8th
District Congressman to exchange information on current legislation and to
voice the attitudes of the Club on advertising issues.
HOSPITALITY/CLUB INVOLVEMENT
Help ACE create a welcoming environment for new and existing members.
Members of this committee work with the Program committee as well as the
ADDY and Media Auction committees to get meeting information to them and
make members feel as though they are valued and essential part of ACE's
success-which, of course, they are.
MEDIA AUCTION
Be a part of ACE's largest fund-raiser. The Media Auction committee solicits
media contributions and silent auction items for this much-anticipated
annual event. And they plan the big night when members and guests can
participate in the exciting live media auction. The Media Auction has
traditionally been a great way to raise the Club's awareness and attract new
members.
MEMBERSHIP
ACE wants new members who share our interest in advertising. The Membership
committee is charged with finding new and innovative ways to attract new
members and guests to meetings to see what we're all about. Click on the
"Join the Club" button or contact us if you're interested!
PROGRAMS
We're always looking for dynamic, informed and entertaining speakers for our
monthly meetings. And each year, we try to outdo the last with speakers of
prominence and reputation and to offer members education opportunities
through seminars and workshops. This is the committee that finds those
people, arranges for the facilities and equipment. Who's coming this year?
Let us have your ideas. And stay tuned!
PUBLIC SERVICE/ADVERTISING EDUCATION
Each year, ACE designates at least one public service project toward which
the expertise of the Club can be directed. Those efforts always involve a
not-for-profit organization in need of advertising, public relations, and
media exposure. In the past two years, ACE has participated in the American
Advertising Federation's national awareness project for the Partnership for
a Drug-Free America. We've also conducted a workshop on public relations for
the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana and prepared a needs survey for the
Evansville Dance Theater. The committee also works with student ad clubs and
the community to provide educational opportunities.
SPONSORSHIPS
This committee finds businesses and organizations that will help us upgrade
our programs by offering financial support in exchange for recognition at
the meetings and in our communications. The committee works with Programs,
ADDYs and Media Auction to secure sponsors and give them the recognition
they deserve.
